I am suffering from extreme dryness! And I’m actually wearing lotion!
I have always been (disgustingly) dry. I get very ashy even when I do wear lotion, and I have alligator skin. It’s ick. So, I put a lot of time and money into intense hydrating etc etc, and… I’ve yet to find an affordable product that works for me. And I have tried a lot out there. Ugh, I hate being dry.

So, I haven’t watched a single episode of this season of The Office. I was really busy last semester, so I thought I could last until the DVD came out next fall. Well, thirty seconds ago, I accidently read a spoiler, and it broke my heart. The writer’s stirke helped in my avoidance of the show, but then I was snooping on Myspace, and I read too much. *ugh* It’s the JAM relationship that’s killing me! And, yes, I do have a Myspace! I go on it every once in a while, especially to look up wedding vendors. I don’t have many friends, but I did use it today to ask Jake, my brother’s friend, if he wanted to go to my wedding. It’s not really my scene, though.
In a side note, I am really good at knowing when the UPS delivery man was driving into the apartment complex, and I have to actually throw on some suitable clothing to greet him. Just saw him for the last time- I’ll miss you old UPS man!

This is kind of really geeky, but I got excited that Harry and the Potters were making a stop in Orlando in July. LOL, oh, the giggles. My favorite song is The Human Hosepipe.

The three people I post about the most: Billy Riggins, John Cusack, and Ira Glass. I can’t help it, and over the years, it has not changed. I don’t expect it to, either. The admiration for them is on a strange high level, and I am pretty psyched to be marrying one of them, lol. Eh, 40-year-olds are way too old for me. If they were all in a room together, or a stranded island, I would pretty much freak out at the awesomeness. But in the meantime, I’ve got one of them, so booya!
Anyways, if you want to incite a spout of Ali jumping up-and-down and such, talk about Billy, John, or Ira. And take her to this…

I was wondering if there was a Stuff Asian People Like site, and there is! I must admit… I agree with most of what is listed. When reading lists like these, I can’t help but have a quote from Avenue Q play over and over in my head: “Ethinic jokes might be uncouth, but you laugh because they’re based on truth. Don’t take them as personal attacks. Everyone enjoys them - so relax!”
List of Things Ali Likes That Asian People Like As Well (There are A LOT of Asian people out there. Does this include EVERYONE from the continent of Asia, or just what the US considers Asian (Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, etc.)? That’s more than half the world’s population… Learning about things like this was fun in soc classes.)
-Cute Plush Toys (I cannot pass one by.)
-Academics
-Bargains
-Karaoke (Favorite song: Stay by Lisa Loeb)
-Asian Comedians
-Not Wearing Shoes Indoors (I did a post on this in my Anthropology class for some reason. Other Asians agreed.)
-Asian Supermarkets
-Handwashing the Dishes (I finally learned how to use one in 2006. My mom and dad never used one. My grandparents have one, but it’s used for storage. Wha???)
-Bad Pronunciation
-Arriving Late
-Asian Buffets
-Staring at People
-Comparing People (So mean…)
-Jackie Chan (He’s so cute!)
-Hoarding (Examples: My mother, my grandmother, me.)
-Slurping (It’s messy.)
-Speaking Loudly (And laughing loudly, in my case.)
-Fish Sauce
-Eye Enlargement
-Spring & Egg Rolls (Lumpia!)
-Fortune Cookies

Ira Glass has watched The O.C. and Gilmore Girls. Just listened to him say that he sings along to the theme song of The O.C. with his wife, and he cried when it went off the air.
Oh, more love.
Listen to the MP3 at this messy link:

I’m not going to lie: I am a biiiiig X-Files fan.
I just watched the series finale for the firsy time in six years, and it gave me strange chills. I am still not used to seeing Mulder and Sully being an item. Duh, it was bound to happen, or I hoped it would happen, but it’s still strange. It’s so weird to me, and for that being an ending, I’m still, “What in the world?…………” I remember going to school the next day after the show first ended (wearing my DIY X-Files tank top, of course), and my spanish teacher Mr. Alemane was a fan as well, and we were both like, “What happened?”
Good question.
I know that when the next X-Files movie comes out, I shouldn’t expect many answers, but I still crave some, even though they oh-so-neatly tied up the ends in the finale. It’s been a long time… did they ever get William back, and what are Mulder and Scully doing now? And will Doggett and Reyes still be around? I still giggle when I see Skinner on Stargate Atlantis. I’m such a dork.

I was searching for a Sigur Ros song from The Girl in the Cafe, and on some random Twitter, I read that Anthony Minghella passed away today. What an unexpected loss. I read The English Patient, The Talented Mr. Ripley, and Cold Mountain because of his films, and Truly, Madly, Deeply is my favorite feature of Alan Rickman.

I fell in love with Dawn Landes this week. Her cover of Young Folks has to be the best I’ve heard recently (and I love cover songs).
Sorry for the ugly link.
