Guess who had a great National Cheesecake Day??!
Billy left work early yesterday for our super-top-secret-mission. Afterwards, we walked around an Asian food market next door, but had to leave after I had spent the whole time on the phone with Amanda (we’re finally moving out of the old apartment on Friday!). I had learned it was National Cheesecake Day at The Cheesecake Factory, and had asked Billy if we could go, and he said we could have a dinner date (whoo!). He usually dislikes the food there, because all he eats is the cheesesteak sandwich, and too much of it. I just had to have cheesecake, though. It’s a favorite! We were lucky to get there at around 5pm- our wait was about 5 minutes, and we got a booth and a nice waitress. Billy had his sandwich and I tried the BLT salad. It was weird to me that it had bacon dressing, but the bacon made it tasste good. I love salads with bacon and egg on them, and I wish I made more salads at home… or I should just live on cucumbers, which are my favorite. In the end, we were too full to eat the cheesecake, so we had them to-go, and went to Billy’s parents house to share. Mrs. Riggins had some of Billy’s vanilla cheesecake, and I still have a whole slice of my raspberry lemon cheesecake (which is soooo yummy and light tasting). I guess I’ll have to eat it all today…. mwahahahahaha. Not bad for $1.50 each, considering it’s usually $6.50-$7.50 a slice (eek!). Good thing we got there early- when we were leaving, the waiting area was PACKED, and I bet the wait for a table was an hour…

Just got home from watching a special showing of WarGames with Billy at the movie theatre! He’d never seen it! Inconceivable! I remember watching it a long time ago, and it became one of my favorite geeky movies. Also, who can resist Matthew Broderick? Anyways, it was a great date for our two-month marriage anniversary, complete with an extra-large Icee. A funny thing happened during the film- it stopped! It was projected from the Internet, and broke down for at least 15 minutes. Billy snapped a shot of the screen, and the computer being used was using an old version of Windows, whee! We got vouchers for a free future viewing so that was awesome! Now we can go see Wall-E!
Lesson learned: Don’t trust a machine to do a human’s job.

Opposite of what most people would or do believe, I do not watch chick flicks! I probably haven’t watched a romantic comedy in a theatre since… Alex & Emma (oh, waste, even if it did have Sophie Marceau in it). I’ve seen a lot of them in my youth, however- that’s what I get for living with my film-loving grandma! I’m more drawn to movies that end up with people dying and me crying. I cry veeeery easily in films. I’m With Lucy is one of my favorite chick flicks ever. I have no idea why- I happened to watch most of it with my friends on television one night back in high school, and it stuck with me. I bought the VHS (back when Wal-Mart still sold VHS…), and I practically have the entire score and songs in the film memorized in my strange mind. They should come out with a soundtrack on CD, I’d buy it. I love that film. Monica Potter has great luck finding guys (in movies). It’s got Henry Thomas AND John Hannah in it (which was great, because I had a strange affinity for those guys back then). I always thought I’d run away (or rollerblade away) as her character did when Barry proposed to her. (But I didn’t!) The projector film scene is still so cute to me. And there’s karaoke, really bad karaoke! And the movie turned me on to the band Bread! And the second proposal was something I’d want to do for Billy (because it’s awesome), and their wedding was simple, untraditional, and sweet. And I think the film made me want to put Billy in a suit all of the time (if only). So, umm, watch I’m With Lucy. I’d call it one of the films that have shaped my life, even if it’s not a masterpiece and is corny. It’s on Lifetime right now. Don’t tell anyone I was watching that channel.

Steven Page was arrested for drug possession, but I still love Barenaked Ladies. Can’t change that.

I love Billy because last night while watching television, he reacted in agony as a young woman was shown buying relatively nice drum shell only to fill them up with soil and flowers.

Urban Outfitters sent me an e-mail today with my own idea in it! Okay, it’s not a unique idea at all: I was going to cover our future new sofa with one of their “tapestry” prints (glorified bedsheet). We can’t afford to get my semi-dream couch at the moment (It’s the Corona at Macy’s!), but we sure can afford one at Ikea, even though the comfiest one leaves much to be desired in design. I really like two of them that have an Asian feel, and I think it would go well with the random brown and greeness of the house. Why does UO send me an e-mail everyday, totally not necessary unless they were giving me free things.
Two songs I am learning to sing today: Okay by KaiserCartel (reminds me of a version of The Weepies) and Why Do You Let Me Stay Here by She & Him. Luckily, the She & Him song is short and therefore easier for me remember. However, I was not able to find the lyrics to Okay on the Internet, so I had to listen to it a few times and write it down. Here’s my incomplete version (I could not understand one line, signified by “–”).
Okay
By KaiserCartel
I cannot stand
This still silence
It’s my own fault
I cannot listen
To myself
To myself
To myself
It’s in your eyes
What you’ve been hiding
Turn on your lights
The truth hit home
It’s okay if you want to play dumb
It’s okay if you’ve fooled everyone
It’s okay if you want to have fun
Where is my heart
(Took it with you)
Thought it was lost
(I just miss you)
I learned it was not
(–me too)
I realized that I left it with you
Yeah, with you, boy
It’s okay if you want to play dumb
It’s okay if you’ve fooled everyone
It’s okay if you want to have fun
It’s okay if you can’t stay long
It’s okay if I’m right or wrong
It’s okay if you want to move on
How are you feeling Yes I’m feeling
How are you feeling Yes I’m feeling
How are you feeling Yes I’m feeling
How are you feeling, are you feeling okay?

I’ve decided I’d rather see “Wanted” with my friends than “Sex and the City.”

While perusing the cereal aisle today (Billy and I go through Honey Nut Cheerios like weevils), I saw a bag of Malt-O-Meal cereal I hadn’t tried before, and I got super excited. It was the off-brand version of CORN POPS, my favorite cereal. Corn Pops is usually too expensive for my taste, and too sweet as well, so I haven’t had it forever. But, seeing that there was a huge off-brand bag of it available for less than $4, I couldn’t resist.
I don’t like yellow much, but I just ate yellow cereal in my yellow bowl for lunch, and it was all good.
The “Corn Bursts” were ok- similar in taste, and now I’m going to be all hyped up on sugar.

I got a really bad haircut. Like, I won’t go outside. Well, nevermind, I’ll go outside, but my hair will most likely stay in a ponytail.
This blog will still be active as long as I live- it’ll be my personal space.
I have decided to change williamandalicia.wordpress.com into our family blog, now focusing on our home and etcetera.
Plus, that blog is coolr because I can post pictures.
Good thing I cannot post pictures of my bad haircut on here. Mwahahaha!
The wedding was swell, and although I never fully realized I was getting married, I now am, and it’s pretty darn good!
Sewing curtains must be it.
I need to have a yard sale.

I have been sitting outside of a Live Oak McDonald’s for at least the last 40 minutes. I had a 10 piece chicken nugget and iced tea. I am now overloaded on SUGAR (times like these make me miss ice even more… it’s so plain… so good). Also, I stole Internet from somewhere! (Not from McDonald’s, because they make me pay- boo!) It’s raining, and I’m not really in the mood to drive again… I just want to sleep.
