In recent past, I have been featured on Amie Street, which is awesome because I never know what to write as my RECs. I sound simple most of the time. Cool with me, but my RECs make me sound like I sway a little too much.
I was a REC of the week the other week for the song Heard Somebody Say by Devendra Banhart. My REC was called “The Love Not War Rec”, and I said, “I feel like swaying with the masses and fitting flowers into guns when I listen to this song.”
And today, I am featured as the REC for the Single of the Day, which is Too Young by Taken by Trees. I wrote “My favorite song on the album. As a whole, it feels like a completely different experience, starting with her sing-song voice and ending with striking piano keys. Perfect.”
I have a strange love for Amie Street. Last week, I got all of Cat Power’s music for practically nothing. It’s impossible not to love that, plus I get to listen to some of the best music out there. Adam Green is my favorite right now, but I was pretty psyched to get that song by Aberfeldy from the Diet Coke commercial that I’ve had stuck in my head forever!
