Ali Baba and the Silver Screen
Jan 18th, 2008 by Ali
I just finished watching “Little Children,” a year after I read the book. At first, I was a bit scared- as with the book, I felt as if Sarah’s lifestyle hinted at my future. Note to self- don’t do that.
One of my favorite parts of going back to Orlando every weekend is planning what I want to do. I have a huge movie list I have to pare down before next month, so this weekend, I am hoping Billy will drop me off at the movie theatre for the whole day. Sounds strange, but I haven’t seen so many good movies that are thankfully out in our neck of the woods. I’ve already missed out on seeing “No Country For Old Men” in town, and I’m kicking myself for it.
I will see-
*Atonement
*The Diving Bell and the Butterfly
*Cloverfield
*There Will Be Blood
*and for kicks, 27 Dresses (James Marsden, why doesn’t anyone remember how cool you are?)
I think I’ll catch Atonement and Cloverfield before we go to Orlando tonight- both are playing at the movie theater near us, and Billy has no wish to see either (I think he’s actually boycotting J.J. Abrams for Lost episodes, but they come on again soon, so what’s the point? Plus, Billy doesn’t do shaky films with terror.)
