Summer so far.

First off, I can tell you that Hugh Laurie is absolutely fabulous. I know this just because I have never watched a whole episode of “House” and I watched ten minutes of “Stuart Little” for the first time the other day. Man, “Stuart Little” actually looked good. Too bad I changed the channel. (Any movie with a fluffy cat and a full-on train model set up is bound for greatness. I should rent “SL” 1 and 2 after I take back “The Edukators.”)
It is the fourth week of May. By Friday, I will have had two paydays, and I haven’t really saved any money as of yet. Instead, I’ve spent some. Have you ever done that thing where you start spending money and ignore the fact that you are depleting your money by not checking your account balance? Yeah, I have been doing that. As part of my “make Ali a smart, sophisticated young lady” program that starts on the 24th, I will be spending less. This means that until then, I can buy gasoline, unnecessary groceries, and the latest Rosie Thomas at only less than $3 from Amie Street (!!!- I plan to do that tonight).
Recently, I have bought all my music from Amie Street- do the same.
I buy for no reason other than the joyous feeling of having bought something. Today, however, I did come across something I had been waiting for the last month or so: a hair straightener on clearance. So, one of my last splurge purchases was a hair straightener/curler for $10. Not too shabby. A lady buying a CD with her daughter kept looking at me when I was in line, though. Then she said I had gorgeous hair, and asked why I wanted to do such a thing to it. I responded with the truth: I felt unprofessional with bushy hair at work. I have since straightened and slightly curled the ends of my hair. I feel less bushy. Good. That was cheaper than a haircut. (I still get $13 haircuts from Cuts By Us or whatnot.)
So, this Friday, I will SAVE my $400 paycheck, gosh darn it. I need to. I will give myself a budget as well. Hmm… no more buying clothes, which I don’t do much anyways. Instead, I shouldn’t buy baked goods, music, and things on sale. Or another Xootr (that’d save me some moola).
BTW, my Xootr still rocks, and I am so happy no one has stolen it yet. It is pure magic to glide around, but I still have to work on my stopping skills. I also need to sweat less.
I do not think I am graduating next semester. Oh, the agony. I need 20 hours to graduate. I was going to pack 21 hours into my fall semester in order to get it all done… but how could I balance that AND a job? So… because I wasn’t just about ready to anything new anyways… I am graduating in the spring. OR NOT. I don’t know. Hmm… actually…
Let me see if I can schedule a summer B class.
