I just learned that my teacher’s mother died. Melanie Carlson loves her mother more than anything in the world. She would fly back to San Fransisco in a moment to take care of her, and sadly, one of the most important people in her life has passed away. Ms. Carlson is a great teacher, a lover of Batman, geeks, and deviant behaviors. I hope she gets to finish her doctorate program and become a kick-arse professor. Dr. Mustaine will proctor our final exam.
Tomorrow, I have one class- Urban Sociology. We’re watching a Michael Moore film. Umm… yeah. I hope it’s not “Roger and Me”… even though it has much to do with the class. I’m thinking about making cupcakes for our final next Monday.
In most cases, I have truly loved each of my teachers I had this semester. Thanks, teachers! Only one of them was an actual professor. Grad students are the best, because they feel your pain, yet are strict as hell.
I got Billy to go on a date and see “Hot Fuzz” today. I love Simon Pegg, but… a plethora of English comedians were in it, so I had a field day. Plus, it was just brilliant. You should see it, NOW! “Yarp.”
Yesterday night, Billy and I hosted an impromptu dinner party- taco night. It was nice, with Amanda, Parisa, and Crystal there. Billy now fears loud girls who cannot play Monopoly. I’m sorry we cannot count or pay attention for more than ten seconds. It rocked, and I must say, I loved wearing the apron I made last summer.
All right, I came hope wanting to sew, but… I feel really bad about Ms. Carlson’s mum. She reminds me of my mother, all the way in California and a bit off-centre. It will all be… okay.
Good luck on finals, everyone. I’ll see you afterwards for some lazer tag or something.
(BTW- Target always has these great compilation CDs on sale in their entertainment section for about $3, if you’re lucky. So far, I’ve got one on popular 80s music, country love songs, acoustic mood, “fresh music,” and some other sappy ones. I’ve been collecting them- they are really good for $3.)
Hot Fuzz is awesome!!
I hope things become more emotionally settled for you soon.
This is nice thing to say, I have no idea which one of my students wrote this, but I just found ti online and it is really nice.
Thank you,
Melanie Carlson
