Arrrgghh! The Plague!
Apr 4th, 2007 by Ali
While I am watching the end of a History Channel show on my favorite medieval topic (THE PLAGUE), I shall blog on three things: John Cusack movie trailers, “Knocked Up,” and the new Bright Eyes.
JOHN CUSACK
After what seems like a million years, my week has been bombarded by John Cusack all of a sudden. And it’s only Wednesday. Hmm. Anyways, I have watched the trailers for “Martian Child,” “War, Inc.,” and “1403.” I’m waiting for the day when he plays a suburban househusband. In the meantime, we have him in black, wielding a gun/ghost hunting apparatus/martian child, most likely spazzing out, but ever so cooley. I am most excited to see “1403,” but “War, Inc.” is something he worked on personally, and I can’t wait for that either (Ben Kingsley… yes…!).
KNOCKED UP
Tomorrow, UCF is offering a free advanced screening of “Knocked Up” for students and such. Billy and I have tickets, do you?! Be there, or be square! I was a bit doubtful about the movie… how could it possibly follow one of my favorite movies of all time, “The 40-Year Old Virgin?!” Well, I’ve heard it’s funny, and let’s face it, Seth Rogen was the best thing in “You, Me, and Dupree.” Plus, two words: Paul Rudd. Salivate on that. (???) For the boys: Katherine Heigl… everyone’s favorite cupcake baking doctor/model and girl from “Wish Upon A Star.”
BRIGHT EYES
I’m excited to buy Alison Krauss’ newest soon, but in the mean time, it’s always good to hear what else is new from musicians I’ve liked. I just finished listening to three new songs from Bright Eyes… I think I can do without it, strange enough. There’s a significant shift, and the songs don’t sound like the ones before them. That is good in a way, but… Anyways, they’re coming to Orlando soon (or have they already passed?), so catch them. In other music news, Billy likes “Gotta Have You,” while I like “Painting by Chagall, both from The Weepies.
Okay, I just wanted to blog about John Cusack, really. But that felt like to little for a post. I have one hour until I can sign up for next semester’s classes! I am (so far) going to take: my last soc. class, Sexual Behavior, Italian I, and Astronomy! Hard!
