One thing I’ve learned: It is dangerous to be left alone.
Jan 27th, 2007 by Ali
When I am alone, I do the worst things. Even though Amanda is here, I am in the living room area, and are therefore in my own little world. I’ve allowed myself to eat the rest of my Cheetos, the cheddar bunnies, four burnt cornbread pieces, one single serving of broccoli with cheese, and my leftovers of honey bbq chicken pieces in the last 7 hours. My stomach is entertaining a circus. Not to mention my million mugs of ice cubes. I am off and on killing myself by freezing my body internally. I’m sick, but it strangely feels so good and satisfying.
This is what I let myself get to when no one’s watching me. I’m a varocious muncher and no-good-doer. Did I do my paper today? No way. I went shopping and bought a new pair of sneakers! Yes, well, I noticed my very old pair of Converse kind of smelled today. It was the first time my nose had ever been that close to them. I’ve had them for about… wow, six years? No way. That’s sick. But true.
The heirs to Ali’s feet dynasty are a pair of grey Converse Jack Purcell sneaks, size 4 (in men’s), found in the kid’s section of Ross for $13.99. Perfect. Let me tell you- the kid’s section, if you can do it, has the best assortment of shoes for a cheap price, although Ross is cheap to begin with. Anyways, always remember this: shoes are always good to buy at Ross. They are dirt cheap (bought my work flats there for $10), and so awesome.
A shoe brand I’ve noticed in my shopping today has been Simple Shoes. They look like very comfortable sneakers. When I got home and researched them, I knew I had heard of them before- they make the green toe shoes!
Also, I have new glasses. Billy picked them out after trying on almost every pair in the JcPenny store. Cost $250, and a new thing for me is the plastic frame, and the anti-reflective lenses. 9 days later, I had a very different pair of glasses, with a very strong prescription. I read that Lisa Loeb has a prescription like mine… except mine is worse. Lovely. I do like her glasses, though.
Yesterday, I went bike riding with Billy, finally! I had a lot of fun, and I know he did, too. Billy, for all the computer geekiness that he is made of, is also a lover of nature and being outdoors. Despite getting sunburnt, he loves to go around and play and see things. Gotta love that! I hope we get to ride some more soon- we’re made to feel the wind in our hair (and have sore bums the next day).
Finally, I have this to report: tiny bits of my birthday have already started to creep forward! All right, they’re not even tiny, they’re HUGE! It’s not even the end of January yet! Billy’s already said he got us tickets to Guster (yay!), but yesterday was a major plus plus! First, I learn that Thomas and Crystal sent me a gift (yay and thank you! Billy loves Gregory, his iDog, to bits, also.), which I cannot wait to open next month. Then, Mrs. Riggins gives me an envelope with my name on it, and I am so nervous to open it, but they made me, and it’s two tickets to see a production of RENT at the Carr Center on the 8th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *…* I was once an aspiring Renthead. I do like it, a lot. This is my first real Broadway musical.
*frozen in shock*
People love me so much, I am stunned. Thank you. *biggest smile in the world* I love you, too.
Besides all the awesomeness in my life, I still haven’t done my measley 3 page paper due Monday. Instead, I eat and wear my new sneakers and look at my new glasses and think about love. Silly Ali, go back to reading books.
