I found a reason to get up early tomorrow morning.

Since I’m actually staying at my house this weekend, and I don’t have to wait for Billy to get up, I have the chance to do some yard saling. Yes, it’s a bit strange- I put aside a lot of my time in Pensacola towards going to yard, garage, and estate sales every Friday and Saturday, yet I do not do so here. Maybe this is because I only have limited knowledge of the Oveido, UCF, and Downtown Orlando areas. In Pensacola, I make a gigantic plan: hit the furthest away early in the morning (downtown), go around home (Davis, etc.), and then head out to the pastures (Cantonment). It’s a great feeling to be up so early in the morning, with a mission and some cash.
Tomorrow is my second Orlando mission (well, it’s in Oveido, where I actually do reside). The first time was in Billy’s negihborhood, and I scored well there, I believe- especially with an old copy of Bushido Blades (overpriced at $5) and a newish copy of the making of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy book (way loverly underpriced at $3). This time, I am going to one place that I found advertised on CL (http://estatesalesbycece.com/upcomingsales.html). It started today, and already I am afraid that all of the early birds (old people) got everything awesome. Seriously, this looks like the motherload. It may all be expensive, but some of the things listed were $1, so I better walk away with at least something (even if it’s an old pot). I am looking for women’s clothing, fur coats (I swear, I’m sorry PETA, but I do like fur sometimes, and at least I’m not killing new animals by buying a new coat… although it’s old… and that’s awkward… don’t make me think about it…), dishes, sewing notions, vases, and something for Billy.
Going to these things gets me pumped. They say they take debit cards if you buy $50 worth or more. I saw a chair and ottoman set I really wanted- I may go overboard. Shopping never was a big thing to me before, but after being around my mother and my grandmother (and let’s face it, my aunts), I have to come to terms with my spending habit. Although, I do spend much less for much more awesome things. At least in my mind. Yeah, because an aquamarine upright piano would be a steal to me. Over the summer, I spent almost $150 on clothing. I went from having 8 dresses to having 36. There’s something wrong with me.
In other news: I have John Legend stuck in my head, Amanda went to her first Halloween party of the October season (she’s Dorothy), we all went to Bubbalou’s BBQ for lunch and I especially enjoyed the cornbread and free slushie (thank you, Marie!), and I have been laying on the couch watching the Food Network and the Discovery Channel like there was no tomorrow for the last 7 hours. Being sleepy does that to you. I also want to go to the acappella (sp?) concert tomorrow night. I missed Jack’s Mannequin (WHY GOD?) and Mae tonight, so I need something to make up for it. Especially acappella (sp?).
Ok, good night, brotha.
