That’s nobody’s business but the Turks!

I must say… summer has started.
SCHOOL ended (and no more about that silly subject). SUMMER is here. And it’s good, and it’s only been a week and a half.
Thomas and Crystal came to visit Billy and I in Orlando. Very fun for all of us. We went to Sea World, Pei Wei (twice- it was very good and now is legendary), mini golfing (three times), Universal (three times on Spriderman, Thomas’ favorite, but the guys were too scared to go on The Hulk!), the random Chinese restaurant across from Wet ‘N Wild, the Baldwin Park pool, Mall at Millenia, and Arabian Knights. It was a very good vacation for them. We played Soul Caliber II all of the time, and played Monopoly most every night. The most amazing thing happened on the last night where at the end, only Crystal and I were still playing… and I had more than $7000 (I had a stack of $500s)… all from having one property section. I entirely pwned everyone. I had to buy almost every property section and put houses and hotels down just to waste money and defeat Crystal to end the game. Oh, it was so good.
Apparently, I was a good hostess. I say thank you, but if anything, as my first hosting gig, I must say there was a lot of pressure on me from my family and from how I’ve seen Mrs. Riggins deal with guests. I survived… and passed with flying colors! Hopefully it wasn’t a fluke, and I was really good. I think it’s just because I want to make people really happy, and if that means giving you chocolate and giving you favors in Monopoly… so be it.
Then there was the ride home… and it wasn’t so long this time, but it was long to a sleepy Ba. Rupert made the trip with Billy just fine. I was so glad to get home, see my grandparents and brother, and see Krista and Kyle. So good. Just being with them, doing anything, is better than sitting in my room. Now that I’m home, I have the chance for social interaction. My friends are here until Sunday, and I’m here untl Tuesday. Then on to VA, then finding a job, then being with Billy and his friends. It’s going to be good. Surviving mutliple “roach friends” sitings all ready confirms this for me.
On Monday, I want to clean my room, and clean out my car. That way, when I come home, I’ll be ready to live here. Plus, a bottle of DayQuil had an accident in my car. Reminds me of last week when I found a tub of melted butter that had been in my car for the previous week. Not a good thing to find while looking for a purse. It messed up some of my awesome thrift shop finds from the last few months, but I think I’ll survive. I just have to remember not to put butter in the car and actually leave it there.
I have this thing for funny bands. I didn’t used to know that, but since I started listening to Barenaked Ladies, you can’t deny the humor. That hasn’t saved them for me, though- everyone said they were so good in the beginning, and they really were, seriously, but now… it’s a little too much for me, I don’t know why. Anyways, I’ve been listening to They Might Be Giants, and although I’ve listened to them before, I think I’m just started to appreciate them. They are definitely the quirky weird I’ve identified them as before, but I think now I would really listen to them and care.
Krista sings a good batch of karaoke songs. Kyle needs to work on it. I cried during a rendition of “My Heart Will Go On,” and I cried during “The Family Stone.” Good movie, I am such a softie.
I remember what first brought me to know about “The Family Stone” last year. It was Paul Schneider. I had seen “All The Real Girls,” and looked him up because I really liked him but haven’t seen him elsewhere. Then I saw that his next movie at the time was “The Family Stone.” He played that EMT tech that Amy liked. I knew I recognized his face!
I thought it was so strange though that I was in a category. For all I had put out in the world for others to believe about me, I find a word that pretty much sums up the mystery, and there’s nothing after that. Very much confuses me, because while I know I’m more than that… how do I keep you knowing that? Recently, I’ve wanted to be a hippie. Perhaps it has to do with the Joss Stone hair thing or “The Invisible Circus.” Nothing’s bad with that… except I want to shower… not that hippies don’t shower… nevermind, no more name calling. In my household in the future, we won’t do this, and this means I had better stopped calling Billy a “geek” by then.
